Canyon (30 minutes) 6/20/01, Topher, Kerstin, Joe Gray, Michael Ragozin.
Seattle, Freeway Park

A 30 minute gathering and video installation in downtown Seattle's Freeway Park.
The event was inspired by the place.
A canyon fashioned from concrete, yet feeling totally organic. One spot in particular begs for a projection with a perfect 4 x 3 aspect ratio.
We planned a guerilla art event: setup in 5 minutes, 30 minute projection, pack out in 5. A generator, a video projector and a mini VCR.
Follow the ICON link to see the flyer.

You Are An Animal - (SpaceBoat TV) (20 minutes) 6/01/01, Franklin Joyce, Topher, Tonya.
Seattle, Experience Music Project, Sky Church

Moblie Projection Experiments collaboration.
SpaceBoat TV was a multi-sensory multi-performer event at the EMP. We created "You Are An Animal", three moblile projectionists engaged the audienece directly by projecting trios on animals on three adjacent people. The idea was to create relationships between the people. [lion, hyena, hyena] [cat, mouse, dog] [cow, fly, fly] [lobsterboy, mermaid, elephantman] In reality few people realized the connection of the separate projections, but were amazed, delighted, intimidated none the less.

MeetSpace (1 hour) 3/20/01, Topher.

Spaceboat.TV's MEETSPACE is a weekly forum in Seattle for performance artists to meet one another, perform, and drink beer.
Topher performed two pieces:
"What does the 'G' stand for in the scientific term 'G force'? " This visualset was directed at the audience of this event, its rare to have an audience that is so experienced and aware of videomixing. The set started off with pure television "Who wants to be a millionaire" and commercials and slowly mixed into abstract, intense, visuals. Text was occasionlly overlayed: "Why are you here?" and "You could be home watching tv"

"Harmonica" I am tweaking a program that I wrote back in 97 for fluid realtime control of an algorithmic cyclic pattern, now named "beameffector4.exe". Should finish up the tweaks tonight, possibly renaming to.... "beameffector5.exe" I know how it works, but I dont really understand the patterns that it creates.
